Sony’s VAIO X ultraportable gets gently unboxed on video
November 3, 2009
Sony’s 11.1-inch VAIO X may not have the internal hardware we’d like, but there’s no denying that this thing is as capable as any machine at seducing you into a purchase. The good lads over at NewGadgets have managed to secure one over in Germany, and while their version doesn’t ship with an extended battery, it’s still worth taking a look at. Trust us. It’s waiting for you after the break, and if you’re new to all of this, that giant “Play” button that’ll appear is what you’ll want to press.

Ion propulsion engine could take you to Mars in 39 days
October 20, 2009
Ready for some interplanetary exploration? We’ve had the force shields, currency, and refuel stations all sorted out for a while, and now here come the ion thrusters we’ve been missing to make manned trips to Mars really viable. Currently, a return journey to Mars can take up to two years, with crew members having to wait a full year for the planets to realign, but with ion propulsion — which uses electricity to accelerate ions and produce small but longevous thrust — ships can get there within a reasonably tight 39-day window. Ion propulsion rocket engines were first deployed successfully by NASA in the Deep Space 1 probe in 1998, and the latest iteration’s successful Earth-bound testing has led to plans for a flight to the moon and use on the International Space Station as test scenarios for the technology. It’s all still very much in the early stages, of course, but should all that testing, checking, and refinement bear fruit, we might finally have a whole new world to colonize and sell sneakers on.
[Thanks, Davis]

Laughably large Red Light Camera Detector proves that you should just drive safely
October 15, 2009
Just a hunch here, but we get the feeling that you’ve gone one step too far when you decide to install a red light camera detector in your vehicle that’s larger than a) your GPS unit and b) the bag phone you used between the years 1991 and 1994. For those bold enough to disagree, there’s the wild and wacky device pictured above, delivered to you by none other than Hammacher Schlemmer. Packing an internal database of 6,000 red light and speed cameras across the US and Canada, the GPS-enabled device also boasts a 1.6-inch OLED screen to show your position in relation to upcoming cameras, and of course it’ll belt out all sorts of warnings to help you avoid the inevitable. Of course, you could just follow the rules of the road, but then you’d have no excuse to burn $199.95 up front and $19.95 annually on this heap. Tough call, no?

Sprint now reselling WiMAX in Atlanta, Portland and Las Vegas
August 17, 2009

Atlanta, Portland and Las Vegas have been lit with Clearwire’s CLEAR WiMAX for varying lengths of time now, but throw a Sprint label on there and you’ve got a whole new party to attend. In what’s easily one of the stranger partner relationships in the business world today, Sprint has just announced that it’s reselling 4G services in a trio of markets that have actually had the service for months / weeks / days now. So yeah, nothing really new here — it’s the same 4G waves that Clearwire customers have been enjoying for awhile, but if you’re more comfortable waltzing into a carrier store, now’s your chance. We’ll leave you to the read links below for the specifics, but here’s the long and short of it: if you’ve got a 4G-capable device, you can add WiMAX to your plan for an extra $10 per month on top of your 3G data plan.

Mont Tremblant
February 26, 2008
I am wishing for a travel this march for me and for my hubby. I love to see a snow! hehehhe! It is a very nice vacation if we will go outside the Philippines for at least a week this march. That’ll be the most memorable day for me ever. I was browsing today for some good vacation sites until I came across this site which has a chalets to stay in. It is so interesting because I’ve never seen a chalet before. I think it is a nice place to stay while your on a vacation.

The site I discovered is called tremblant living. They are located in Canada which is a place I want to visit. They offer a luxury mont tremblant Canada vacation home rentals. They have a lot of beautiful homes for your vacation. Everything you need to a home like the kitchen, kitchen utensils, bathroom nececities, bed, pillows, furnitures and other things you need in a house is available with them. So you won’t be problematic of what to buy because the house you rented doesn’t have what you need.
You can see on the site that the mont tremblant accommodations are priced right. The house is beautiful and you’ll have the grandest time if you’ll chose to rent their house. And they are also close to nature so I am sure there are a lot of greens when you open a window and you will also hear a lot of bird singing outside. Isn’t that cool?
Ohh I love to stay in that kind of house. I am sure I will feel like I am the richest person in the whole world. I should save up for that. I guess you too should try tremblantliving.com if you need mre information about tremblant rentals. Go to the site now and book your vacation home.
Good Luck!
Hotel Reservations
February 26, 2008
In March, Beth and I will be driving up to the great state of Pennsylvania to spend a few days with the Mary which is my internet best friend for those that don’t know. I am so excited. Everything is falling into place, we’ve already talked to my mom about going and she’s okay with it so far. She’s kind of scared and concerned since this is our first time driving up north and considering it will be just Beth and I, it is giving her a lot of reasons to be concerned but go figure, she is a mom! Lol. That’s her job, to worry! We’ve already decided on the vehicle we’re going to rent and now all we have to do is make our reservation which will be done the week after my birthday to make sure we actually get what we want. We got to drive in style, ya know?
The only thing left to do is check out Hotel Reservations and book us a place to stay! We have been browsing HotelReservations.com and I am very impressed with the website. They have a lot of hotels to browse from and we are able to look them up, check out images of the hotels, and then pick which one we like the best. The good thing is that they have very cheap prices but not cheap places. I know that price is important but it’s not worth compromising the place we stay in since I prefer a nice hotel that is clean and bug free. I seriously have this phobia of bugs and more so the phobia of staying a hotel full of bugs. I seriously would have a heart attack.
